Date Time Difference Calculator

Calculate elapsed time between two local dates with calendar and exact-duration breakdowns.

Enter two dates and times to calculate the difference between them without sending anything off this page. Use it for planning windows, service intervals, deadlines, schedule checks, and quick elapsed-time summaries.

Use your local calendar and clock. Seconds are optional in most browsers.

Choose a later or earlier value. The summary can show either absolute or signed duration.

How it works

The calculator compares the two local date/time values you enter and reports both an exact elapsed duration and a calendar-style breakdown. The exact totals are based on elapsed milliseconds. The calendar breakdown expresses that same span as years, months, days, hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds so it reads naturally for planning.

Absolute mode reports the size of the gap regardless of which date is earlier. Signed mode keeps the direction so you can see whether the end value is before or after the start value.

The optional inclusive calendar-day count uses the visible start and end dates only, which is useful for event spans such as Monday through Friday. Local daylight-saving changes can make elapsed hours differ from simple day counts, so use the exact totals when precision matters.
