Crypto Position Size Calculator
Estimate crypto trade size from account value, risk budget, entry price, and stop price.
How it works
Position sizing starts with a risk budget: how much account value you are willing to lose if price reaches the stop. The tool divides that risk budget by the price distance between entry and stop, adjusted for your optional round-trip cost estimate.
Risk amount = account value × risk percentage
Position size = risk amount ÷ (entry-to-stop distance + estimated cost per unit)
The output includes estimated coin quantity, notional value, stop-distance percentage, effective risk, estimated cost allowance, and implied leverage so you can check whether the scenario fits your own rules before trading.
Assumptions and limitations
This is a simple planning calculator. It does not fetch market prices, model liquidity, funding rates, borrow costs, liquidation thresholds, exchange maintenance margin, tax treatment, partial fills, price gaps, or changing volatility.
Use the same currency basis for account value, risk amount, entry price, stop price, and fee assumptions. Results are estimates only and are not financial, investment, tax, legal, or trading advice.
All calculations happen locally in your browser. Your trade plan is not sent to a server.
