Accessible Name Tester

Test how elements derive accessible names from labels and ARIA attributes.

Paste interactive HTML, landmarks, image links, form fields, or component markup to trace likely accessible names from visible labels, ARIA attributes, image alt text, and referenced helper text. The tester runs locally in your browser and does not upload your markup.

Test one component, form, dialog, or page region at a time. The results show likely accessible names and warnings; verify them in the finished page with your usual accessibility checks.

How to use the tester

Paste the markup for controls or regions and choose Test names. Start with missing names and broken ID references, then review names that come only from title text, hidden text, placeholder text, or repeated labels.

Good accessible names are short, persistent, and match the visible label whenever a visible label exists. Referenced helper text can add useful descriptions, but it should not replace a clear name for buttons, links, and form controls.

The report is a markup review aid. Verify important results in the final page with keyboard navigation, browser accessibility tools, and assistive technology before publishing.

Your pasted HTML stays in the browser. This page does not fetch linked resources, submit forms, upload markup, or call external services.
